I think That the top two sprinter in MN right now is That Emmanuel Matadi Kid from st.paul Johnson and Chichi Ojika from irondale yeah I mean both of them are strong runner and I can't wait to see them race each other in the up coming track season.....And Yes I do Know that the already raced at state but that can't count cause Matadi got hurt in prelims
Yeah I go to North St.paul and I seen both of these guys run and man are they FAST I actually ran against the St.Paul Johnson kid at sections and man did I feel slow lol but yah that would be a great race to watch and hopefully both of them will be a 100%
Well I will say for the boys top are Sean King, ChiChi Ojkia, Emmanuel Matadi,Calvin Clark (not in any specific order) but since we're talking recent Bump King out the list since he graduated so I guess it'll be those 3 fighting for the top 100m and 200m spot up coming season....Anoher thing is all U guys are talking about is Matadi N Ojika but Clark is a very good runner N he was only a freshmen running in the 21's for his 200 just think about what he's bout to do his sophomore Year. Twelve records were broken at the 2008 USATF Minnesota Junior Olympic Championships held June 21-22 at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul. Calvin Clark rewrote the sprint records for Intermediate Boys (born 1992-1993). Competing for ICAA/MN Breeze, Clark sped to a 10.98 100m finish, eclipsing the old record of 11.32 set by Matt Johnson in 1998. Clark went on to remove Johnson’s 200m record of 22.47 by just bettering it to 22.46. Showing his versatility, Clark completed the sprint trifecta by establishing a new 400m record for Intermediate Boys with a time of 51.04, lowering the previous record of 51.11 set by Leon Cheneyon in 2006.

ya i watched him at hamline elite friday. very impressive from lane 9. he was seeded at like a 51 something and ran sub 50. so he still has room to improve. but seeing henry darling win by 5 or 6 meters, i don't see gearman winning state
Watch for Nik Ihlang from Chanhassen in the 400m. He could qualify for the finals based on performances so far this year. So far, he's run four 400m this year (one on a 4x400 relay). His first ever 400m was a 55 second split, then he ran a 51.5 on another 400m relay, ran 51.2 (or there abouts) in his first open 400m, and won the 400m at the 4AA True Teams in 50.68. The two open races were against limited competition, so he has yet to run it against the best.
I'm guessing he'll break 50 pretty easily.

Calvin clark ran a 47.3 at AAU. I am looking forward to see this years freshman. Two years ago a kid Paul Akintade beat Clavin's PB for youth. Last year matthew rosen broke his 400 record. Shaheed Hickman also ran a fat 11.15 as a youth. I am looking forward to this year.

i feel for Calvin because he's stuck in class A but he will definitely sweep the 100 200 and 400. he's best times for those though will be next week at the Saint Paul conference meet. STP has 3 of the top 4 sprinters in state right now, calvin will run his best against Myint Maung(HP) and Andrew Lewis (central). calvin's the favorite right now for the 100 and and Andrew for the 200. myint is still hurting from football so he probably wont win. it will be interesting if Calvin can beat the state record before Devin C-Tufts...

Girls 100 champion is going to be Wensia Johnson almost certainly if she stays focused. As for the boy's side there will be many different faces that will most likely run some surprising times, as for Ayuk he has a large space to improve especially since he has no speed maintenance, so we will see.
